Office of Business Development
The New York City Public Schools Office of Business Development (OBD) is led by Dr. Tammy Pate, Deputy Chief Officer. The office is committed to identifying, developing, and increasing the utilization of Small Businesses across NYCPS, Central Offices, New York City Agencies and the private sector.
The Office of Business Development serves as a liaison between the small business vendors and the various departments and initiatives within the agency. Our team is dedicated to helping small and minority-owned businesses access opportunities and develop the capabilities needed for long-term success as NYCPS vendors. Vendor Support
OBD provides direct assistance to vendors navigating the NYCPS procurement process, offering guidance on certification, registration, and contract requirements.
Agency Coordination
OBD works across NYCPS departments to identify contracting opportunities suitable for M/WBEs and helps ensure agency-wide utilization goals are met.
Business Development
Through programs like Expand-U, OBD provides training, mentoring, and resources to help small businesses grow their capacity and competitiveness.
